Marine Centrifugal Fan | High-Pressure Explosion-Proof Available

A centrifugal fan designed for high-pressure, low-volume applications. It is ideal for hazardous areas like battery rooms or gas tank ventilation. The non-sparking construction features a stainless steel impeller and a copper-lined casing for safety.

Overview
Our marine centrifugal fan moves air at a 90-degree angle to the inlet. Air enters the center of the rotating impeller and is pushed outward by centrifugal force. The spiral-shaped volute casing collects the air and discharges it. This design naturally creates higher air pressure than an axial fan. We build our fans with non-sparking components. The impeller is stainless steel. The inlet is copper. A copper ring is welded inside the casing where the impeller spins. These features prevent mechanical sparks, making the fan safe for hazardous locations.

Key Features:

  • High-Pressure Airflow: Generates high static pressure (up to 2600 Pa) at lower air volumes.
  • Non-Sparking Construction: Features a stainless steel impeller, copper inlet, and copper-lined casing to prevent ignition hazards.
  • Explosion-Proof Marine Motor: Uses a fully enclosed, three-phase explosion-proof motor. The motor is treated to resist moisture, mold, and salt spray.
  • Durable Volute Casing: The steel volute casing is welded for structural integrity.

Applications:

  • Hazardous Area Ventilation: Used for the safe exhaust of air from battery rooms, paint stores, and gas tank storage areas.
  • High-Resistance Ducting: Pushes air through complex, high-resistance systems like engine exhaust gas lines or HVAC systems.
  • Galley Hood Exhaust: Provides high-pressure suction to remove smoke and heat from galley equipment.

Installation & Maintenance:

Installation: The fan is mounted on a solid foundation. The outlet direction can be rotated to match the duct syste.
Maintenance: The impeller is dynamically balanced and overspeed tested for reliability. Maintenance involves periodic inspection of the impeller for buildup and checking the motor bearings.

Need something specific?

We can provide fans with custom power supplies (Voltage/Frequency). We also provide all necessary classification society certificates for marine and explosion-proof use.

FAQ :

Q: When should I choose a centrifugal fan over an axial fan?

A: You choose a centrifugal fan when you need to move air against high pressure (Resistance). This is common in long duct systems or when pushing air through dense filters.

Q: What does “non-sparking”mean?

A: It means the fan is built with materials that prevent mechanical sparks. Using a stainless steel impeller with copper components prevents steel-on-steel friction. This is a critical safety requirement for hazardous areas.
