Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) | IMO & USCG Type Approved
An IMO and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) type-approved Ballast Water Treatment System for global maritime compliance. This unit uses a two-stage process of filtration and high-intensity UV disinfection to neutralize harmful aquatic organisms without using active chemicals. It ensures a vessel meets all international and regional discharge standards.
Accreditation and Certificates:
First, incoming water passes through an automatic back flushing filter. This stage removes sediment, zooplankton, and other larger organisms. The pre-filtered water then flows into the UV reactor chamber. Inside the chamber, medium pressure UV lamps emit high intensity ultraviolet light, which penetrates the cells of bacteria and phytoplankton, destroying their DNA and rendering them non-viable. The treated water is then fully compliant with IMO D-2 standards.
